"Cheeky abrupt nurse"

About: Lanarkshire Community Services / Hospital at Home

(as a relative),

My father is in a nursing home with dementia/Parkinson’s.  He’s been unwell for the last week , with high infection levels, the gp has been in a few times and he has antibiotics.

Today the hospital at home care nurses came in to do bloods and other tests, before hospital doctors were due in. One of the nurses was very abrupt with my dad as he couldn’t communicate when they were was asking him questions, then when I asked questions regarding blood tests and him being taking to hospital I found them very rude, cheeky and their facial expressions had a lot to be desired as if I had no right to ask any questions,  especially when I mentioned him getting iv antibiotic. I felt they did not have a good manner for being in that profession and I really hope my dad doesn’t have to deal with them again.

I was really upset when they left the room.  My dad is only in the care home two weeks and suddenly took unwell, myself and sister have had enough upset with his illness and needing care without been spoken to in that manner.
