"Amazing nursing staff"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Daisy Paediatric Ward

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I came in to hospital with my son on Sunday. We have open access to the ward with our son and have been here ever since. The staff on the ward are amazing. The genuinely care about my son and have a lovely nature to them. Especially Doctor Lewis. She was with us last time we were in hospital and made a point of personally coming to see how my son was. She us very caring and kind.

We went to CAH yesterday for my sons EEG and had a great service from the transport staff. They were absolutely brilliant and on time.

My son is being treated so well. He took another seizure last night, and within seconds a nurse was in, soon followed by two doctors. They are amazing.

My only critic would be, as a breastfeeding mum I find the dropdown bed very flat and the chair extremely uncomfortable for both my son and I during feeding. It would be nice to have facilities more equipped for breastfed babies.

The nursing staff in Daisy Hill are just fantastic.

Hello herculeskx77

I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us as I know it is such an anxious time when your child is unwell. I am very pleased to hear that the staff, including Dr Lewis, are so supportive and caring and I know that they will truly appreciate your kind words.

I am sorry that you had difficulty with the drop down bed and our chairs that hindered your ability to comfortably breastfeed your son; I will discuss your feedback with the team. The Daisy Team are very supportive of breastfeeding mothers and will do everything they can to make sure mothers are comfortable throughout this experience.

I will be sure to share your feedback with the team - thank you.

I hope your son is improving and I wish you all the best.

Kind regards

Jodie
