"Helpful, approachable and caring"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Ward A4 Medical

(as a relative),

As a relative of a man with complex health needs who had a recent admission to hospital, I feel I really need to highlight the positive experience my dad had.

Having in the past at some level had a negative experience of inpatient care, we were very reluctant for another admission to hospital. This time we had no choice and my dad had to be admitted with pneumonia following multiple clots for treatment.

He was placed in A1, which caused great anxiety. In this instance the ward had just changed over to a respiratory ward and the deputy sister and sister met with me (the staff were previously A4 staff).

The staff listened to our concerns, validated our feelings and reassured us of their role in looking after my dad. They were helpful, approachable and caring, which we really valued. I feel it important to highlight the positive experience we encountered.

Hi

Thank you for you positive feedback. I will pass this onto the team in A1. I hope your father is improving.

Kind Regards
