"Experience in accessing Covid antiviral medication."

About: Lanarkshire Community Services / GP Out of Hours service

(as a service user),

Unfortunately I tested positive for Covid for the first time yesterday. As someone who was in the highest risk group, shielded and had accessed all vaccinations I managed to avoid it for some time!

I had heard various worrying stories about accessing antiviral medication throughout the UK. I just want to say a huge thank you to NHS Lanarkshire in making this process very straightforward and stress free. I phoned the NHS Lanarkshire Flow? Centre contact number at 7:46am, had a return call just after 9am with a doctor and medication available to collect before 10am.

Although I have no recollection of names (only recall they were all female) I would like to thank the person initially taking my details, the doctor who called back and determined appropriate treatment and the person who then provided instruction on collection arrangements. All 3 were very helpful and made the experience stress free!

Good morning,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your experience of the Covid Treatment Pathway. I was sorry to hear that you had caught Covid and I can understand your concerns. I am pleased that you were able to access the treatment quickly and all those involved were helpful and professional. I will pass on your kind comments to the staff at the Flow Navigation Centre in University Hospital Hairmyres and to the clinicians who undertake the assessments for the pathway.

I hope you have recovered well.

With kind regards and very best wishes

Michael
