I was due to be seen at a clinic for review at the West Ambulatory Care Hospital, but due to a problem with communication regarding follow up I did not receive this as expected by post. I spent considerable time trying to contact various people to ensure I would be seen for a medical review as this was important for the aftercare given my initial diagnosis.
I was becoming quite stressed as the day progressed as there was no way to find a solution. I finally contacted the orthopaedic clinic and explained my situation to the clerical staff, Laura, who was so helpful and understanding and also tried her utmost to find a solution for me. I should point out this was at the end of the day which I’m sure had been hectic for her yet she was patient and kind to me which I was grateful for.
I later was put through to her manager, Kathleen, who again spent considerable time trying to resolve my issue and ensure I would be seen as planned , all without the required information that should have been available to her. I was given an appointment which I attended and was seen by a very friendly team of doctors and nurses. Diane dressed my wound and put my mind at ease.
I want to express my thanks to those staff that took the time to ensure I received the required treatment and for the professional and caring manner in which they dealt with me.
"Helpful staff"
