I attended the Endoscopy unit at Forth Valley Royal Hospital (FVRH) earlier this week to have a routine endoscopy. This procedure can be a mite uncomfortable but the team this week led by Dr Paterson were outstanding. 

The atmosphere they created inspired confidence that at all times the procedure would be carried out effectively, efficiently and by a team of experienced and highly personable and caring healthcare professionals. This comment applies to the entire team - from the nurse at admission through the team who carried out the procedure - and finally to the recovery team (including the student) - all were simply wonderful.

I always find Dr Paterson to be an excellent physician - he is incredibly efficient and his observations and explanations as he carries out the endoscopy together with his very helpful comments at the conclusion of the procedure do a great deal to inspire trust.

Thank you for your very kind comments regarding your experience during your appointment at the endoscopy unit.

We as a team understand that it is very daunting attending for a procedure that can be uncomfortable and for some procedures painful at times. That patients are anxious whether that is due to the procedure itself and/or the possible findings.

We strive to ensure that our patients are well informed and try to offer as much reassurance to each individual as possible at this time in a caring manner.

I am so pleased to hear that you felt you received this high level of care from our team.

I will be passing on these lovely comments onto the whole team and Dr Paterson who I am sure will appreciate them. We will continue to provide this high level of care to all our patients to the best of our ability.
