"A high standard of care and compassion."

About: General practices in Lanarkshire Lanarkshire Community Services / Hospital at Home

(as a relative),

My poor auntie got a very bad chest infection and  after a few days despite antibiotics was not getting any better and worse, was extremely confused and hallucinating. This was extremely upsetting to all around her, seeing her so distressed.

Her own GP, Doctor Kilgour from the Church St. practice in Coatbridge, was fantastic and even offered to call in for a home visit after surgery. I didn't think doctors even did that anymore!! However he thought a better option was to have the hospital at home team from Monklands hospital call on her if possible.

They arrived very quickly and were all amazing, taking ECG, bloods, etc, followed by a doctor. All gave their professional time and reassured us that she was suffering from an infection which was causing the confusion and it would pass when the antibiotics took hold. They have since followed up with subsequent visits and phone-calls, which has been very impressive. We cannot thank all involved enough for such a high standard of care and compassion.

Thank you so much!

Dear IonaAnn,

Thank you so much for getting in touch about your Aunt's recent experience of the H@H service within University Hospital Monklands. The team as a whole always strive to provide the highest level of acute care and avoid unnecessary admission to hospital. Care and compassion is at the heart of the teams ethos by ensuring that care is given in the familiar, safe and comfortable surroundings of the patient's own home.

Your feedback is very positive and much appreciated. Feedback such as yours makes us proud and makes the teams job all that more rewarding. Thank you for kind words, I have made sure that everyone in the team receives your comments.

Best Wishes,

Richard
