"Incredible home birth of second child"

From the moment I contacted Paula Murray and her amazing team of midwives from the ‘Birth at Home Team’ in the Southern Trust, I was treated with respect, amazing support and the highest level of care I have ever experienced in a healthcare setting. Paula and her team go over and above on a regular basis to support the people they care for, and it does not go unnoticed by us all - thank you.

I had a terrible experience elsewhere with the birth of my first child and was apprehensive at first, but Paula, Sadie and Andrea and all at the Birth at Home Team, as well as Consultant Midwife Jen and Yvonne and Diane from the Community Midwife Team in Banbridge were amazing, supporting my wishes and ensuring everything that needed to be put in place was organised for my home birth. Having most of my ante and postnatal appointments in the comfort of my own home was wonderful. 

The home birth of our son was one of the most empowering, healing and special nights of my life and also such an amazing experience for my partner and the rest of our family. It also felt very normal to have a physiological birth, which I strongly believe in the majority of circumstances is how birth should unfold if this is the wish of the birthing person. 

I cannot express my gratitude towards these amazing women in words, but thank you for everything you did for me and my family. I will never forget it. You truly are ‘with woman’.
