"Waiting for an update on appointment"

About: Children's Specialist Health Services / Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

(as a parent/guardian),

We have been waiting on an appointment for my step son for quite some time. He has been on the waiting list since May 2021. He has been at an ASN school since primary 1 and is now in P6. No diagnosis of ASD despite previous appointments/assessments with his mum. He is now full time in his father and I’s care.

He has many traits in favour of a diagnosis and the confirmation from his primary school that he has ASD. Our concerns, as his parents, are that he is in his final years of primary school and he will likely be going to a mainstream secondary school, we are hoping with support there too.

I totally understand that there are waiting lists and there will be patients who are also in the same position. I was just wondering if we could have an update on the time scale that we would be given an appointment.
