About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Outpatients Department Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Rheumatology

(as a service user),

 I had to attend a rheumatology clinic to see doctor.  My appointment time was for a certain  time and I was not called by the doctor until 55mins later almost one hour late. I received no apology or explanation as to why I was kept so long ! 

Also, this being my second visit to same doctor, I was just treated like I was just another number on list to get through.

I  must say I was not rushed in any way.

My name is Emma, I am a staff nurse in Outpatients Department. I am sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience while attending your rheumatology appointment. I can only apologize for the delay and I will speak to our staff regarding communicating any clinic delays more diligently to the patients as keeping everyone informed is very important.

I appreciate you taking the time to tell us your patient experience as this will help us improve our service and highlight areas that require attention.

I hope future appointments will be more positive.
