"First time patient."

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Day Surgery

(as the patient),

At the beginning of October 2023 I attended the Day Surgery Unit at Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock, for an operation to investigate for endometriosis.

I have never been in hospital as a patient before & I was so nervous.

From the minute I arrived till I went home I was treated with incredible kindness by all the staff.

Before my operation the staff picked up on how scared I was & they went above & beyond to help ease my anxiety & make me comfortable.

After my surgery the nurses looked after me & never made me feel like I was a burden to them.

Throughout the day the incredible staff made me smile & laugh. I could see how busy they were but their standard of care never fell.

Although I don’t wish to have anymore stays in hospital I can safely say anyone attending the unit will be well looked after.

Thank you so much.

Dear JenniferJ

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your healthcare experience following your attendance at the Day Surgery Unit at University Hospital Crosshouse.

I am sure this must have been an anxious time for you, having never been a hospital patient before.

I am delighted to hear that you received such kind, respectful and professional care from our staff and that you were relaxed enough following your procedure to smile and laugh with the staff there.

It will be my pleasure to share your lovely comments with the wider Team in the Unit. Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients and I know they will be delighted to know that you felt so at ease when being care for by them.

Please accept my best wishes for your ongoing recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
