"The care she received was fantastic"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My nana was found unresponsive by her carer who called an Ambulance. They arrived extremely quickly and the paramedics were amazing. They treated my nana with the greatest care and made her so relaxed when she was clearly scared.

She was admitted to A&E and again the care she received was fantastic. The entire medical team who looked after her were so lovely with her and made her feel at ease.

Although she was in her 90s, they still carried out a battery of tests until they were happy to send her home. Can I express my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in her care.

Dear Alisonmac78

Thank you for sharing your story. It must have been quite a frightening time so I am glad that you are happy with all the care that your nana received.

If you would like me to pass on your thanks to the ambulance crew may I ask that you contact our Patient Experience Team at sas.feedback@nhs.scot with your name, Care Opinion name, your nana's name and the address and date we attended.

I do hope your nana is recovering well.

Kindest regards

David

Dear Alisonmac78

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding the care your nana received after her recent collapse. This must have been a very worrying time for her and family.

I am pleased to read that your nana received good care and that staff were able to put her at ease. Whatever age, a sudden visit to hospital can be daunting.

It’s good to know that your nana was discharged home. That is so such positive feedback.

I hope that she is recovering well and thank you again for your kind words.

Best wishes to you both

Lise
