"Everyone has cared for me so well"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Oral Surgery North West Cancer Centre / Oncology and Haematology inpatient (Ward 50) Omagh Primary Care Complex / Outpatients South West Acute Hospital / Emergency Care and Medicine Services South West Acute Hospital / Respiratory Services South West Acute Hospital / Ward 9

(as the patient),

I hear a lot of complaints about the NHS but I have been in several hospitals over the past few months and I cannot fault any of the care I have received.

I had surgery in Altnagelvin Hospital in January 2024 which was for partial thyroid (Ward 43) I was under the oncology team who were fantastic from beginning to end. Even when I needed to see oral max fax as needed teeth the pre check day procedure staff were so reassuring.

I was taken to A&E in SWAH and on ward 1 & 9 (respiratory) again all the care and staff were amazing to me. I was under the care of Mr Capatchi the whole time and he was wonderful and this is ongoing.

Part of my care also fell under Omagh Hospital which again was so clean and I have been so totally impressed so when I heard about Care Opinion I was so pleased there was a way to say thank you and praise the care I received.

As a retired nurse, I can be a wee bit fussy as I know what great care looks like and I have definitely received that so Thank you

Dear betart65

thank you for posting your opinion about the care you have received while being a patient in our hospitals, a small part of the National Health Service (NHS) as a whole.

It is heartening to read, how as a former 'provider', you have recognised and received great care from ourselves and our sister hospitals within our Trust. Thank you once again.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you well on your journey to better health. I am encouraged by your comments, that we as a Trust all staff included, will do our part in this journey of yours.

kind regards

John Kerr

Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) SWAH A&E
