"Most embarrassing for the patient"

About: Sandyford Clinic

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

A few weeks ago I was attending another clinic in the Greenock Health Centre on the 1st floor. There was a  Sandyford Sexual Health Clinic in progress in the same area.  The reason I know this is that the staff member doing this clinic had the door wide open the whole time while asking very sensitive and confidential questions to patients in an extremely loud voice. I think it should be fed back to the staff covering these clinics that it is most embarrassing for the patient attending the sexual health clinic but also for other patients in the waiting area or using the corridors to be hearing these very personal questions being asked. I can only imagine how the patient must have felt sitting there.

Dear DDebby

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I would like to reassure you that patient dignity and confidentiality are extremely important to us. I will ensure that your feedback is shared with the Senior Management Team responsible for the Sandyford Sexual Health Clinic and ask that they discuss this with the staff to ensure that this does not happen again.

Thank you for highlighting this issue and allowing us the opportunity to rectify this.

Kind Regards

Nicole
