Had to visit our local Dumfries Royal Infirmary A & E Dept following severe pain, loss of sensation and grip in my left arm.
This is what happened on that Tuesday afternoon: -
Registered at A & E Reception
2 mins later: Called to see Triage Nurse
7 mins later: Seen and examined by Staff Nurse
7 mins later: Seen and examined by A & E Consultant
5 mins later Diagnosed with possible trapped nerves to left arm, in C5, C6 vertebrae by Consultant
2 mins later: Consultant prescribed Painkillers plus referral to Physiotherapy
4 mins: Painkiller Prescription plus supply of Painkillers given to me by Staff Nurse
4 mins later: Discharged from A & E Department.
I was only in the A & E Dept for just over 30 minutes, from arrival to discharge.
I must say this was wonderful service, which I'm certain cannot be beaten anywhere else in the United Kingdom.
Makes me thankful I live in Dumfries and Galloway, and not in a large city.
Praise where praise is certainly due! Well done!
