"I asked to be updated but this never happened ever"

(as a carer),

My GP sent my mum to iru dept at Queen Elizabeth hospital after a fall. I took my mum there for 2.45pm. She wasn't seen by a Dr until 12.30am then was left on a trolley in the corridor overnight. She was transferred to eru 5 at 10am the same day and wasn't seen by a Dr until after 4pm. As my mum's next of kin I asked to be updated when she was transferred and where she was going to be sent but this never happened ever! My mum was then told she's had a stroke so sent to neurology ward that day.

I went up early to ask why no contact had been made with me even though my mum also asked them to contact me and to find out what was happening. The consultant told us she would get sent for a scan of her neck and she may require surgery because she's had more stroke activity over the weekend and possibly has a blocked artery. This is a high possibility because she's had this before so she was happy to know what was happening to her. The consultant was lovely and answered all her questions.

Then later that day another relative went up, who isn't involved in my mum's care, isn't next of kin or have power of attorney and she was told my mum would be getting sent home that day without having a scan and they may get her back the next week to do it. As someone in their 70s who lives alone and is unsteady on her feet I feel this is very dangerous especially as she's had falls each time she's had a stroke.
