"Pre-assessment clinic"

About: West Glasgow Ambulatory Care Hospital (Yorkhill) / General Medicine

(as a service user),

I visited for first time. A little confusing to find your way around. All of the staff I interacted with in pre-assessment were lovely, extremely professional while being friendly. All of my checks were done promptly and consent obtained where required. My privacy was maintained and I was treated like an intelligent human being despite disclosing mental illness which sadly does not always happen. I had to disclose to a male staff nurse why I would not agree to spinal surgery and it was a very sensitive matter. He displayed empathy and respect, reassuring me that this would be conveyed. Thank you to all of you, you are a credit to the nursing profession. Its not easy but you are doing a great job.

Dear Amity-Rose

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch to tell us about your experience at West Glasgow ACH. I apologise for the difficulties you experienced in finding the department. It is great to hear that you found all the staff lovely, friendly and professional. I appreciate it can be difficult to disclose mental health conditions, so I am pleased that this was dealt with sensitively and that you were left feeling reassured. The staff will be delighted with your feedback.

Best wishes

Nicole
