"Positive Birth Experience"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care

(as the patient),

I am writing to share the very positive experience that my husband and I had in Wards 22 and 23 of Wishaw General Hospital at the birth of our daughter in early July 2024.

Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and treated us with dignity and respect at a very vulnerable time. At each stage of the journey, which took a few twists and turns, we were fully informed of our options, timescales, risks and benefits.

Particular commendation goes to our midwives Carla, Lucy and Cara; to our Obstetrician Becky; and Anaesthetist Eilidh for their care.

We would like to pass on our eternal gratitude to them and the many others involved for their fantastic teamwork to bring our beautiful daughter into the world.

Dear jdcam,

Firstly, Congratulations on the birth of your lovely new daughter!

Thank you so much for your fantastic feedback for our Maternity staff and for including Medical staff also, I am so delighted that you were treated with such dignity and respect, kindness and compassion. This is the kind of care that our staff really strive to provide.

I will show this to all the staff, but particularly for the lovely staff that you have mentioned in particular. They will be so pleased to have been such a positive part of your birth experience as a family, and of your special memories.

Thanks once again for taking time out in what is such a busy time for you with a new arrival!

Hoping you are settling into life with her and enjoying every moment:)

Take care

Carole Burns
