"Fantastic care on ward 11"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Medical/Gastroenterology (Ward 11)

(as a relative),

My dad is currently a patient in ward 11 in Hairmyres Hospital and as a family we are so grateful for the outstanding care he is receiving while he is there. All of the doctors, nurses, health care support workers, pharmacy staff are amazing.

I would like to mention the domestic staff too for making his tea and toast at night that he looks forward to and chatting to him throughout the day, thank you very much.

I think it’s very important that the staff in this ward know that their hard work and dedication is not going unnoticed. Each time we have been on the ward visiting, the staff are always busy but always find the time to come and chat to us and give us an update on how my dad has been.

Thank you so much.

Dear DDebby,

Thank you for sharing your experience of Ward 11 at University Hospital Hairmyres.

I am so pleased to hear that the team are taking good care of your dad during his stay. I am glad that you have found the team friendly and helpful. It's the small things which really impact a patients stay in hospital, so I'm sure the tea, toast and chats are keeping his spirits up. Regular updated from the staff must have helped to make you and your family feel at ease while your dad is unwell.

I will pass on your kind words to the ward 11 team who I am sure will be delighted to hear how their care impacted your experience.

I hope your dad gets better soon.

Kind Regards,

Alix

Dear DDebby

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on the care opinion website, we really appreciate all feedback given as we use it to monitor the standards of care we are providing and to help us determine where we need to make improvements or reassure staff that what they are doing is making a difference.

I know SCN Imrie and his team will be delighted to learn of your comments, particularly that you describe them as amazing and that you recognise their hard work and dedication. I will ensure this is shared with him as well as all the parties you mention, working collaboratively provides the patient with the best experience so it is great to hear this has been the case for your dad.

Warm Regards

Kirsty
