Just a little thank you to staff nurse Fran within the maternity ward in Wishaw General, we never got a chance to say thank you for everything that day.
We were scheduled in for elective c-section and it couldn't have been a more positive experience. From admission with Fran to going home a day later, Fran was very good with us keeping us informed throughout the waiting to go to surgery and popping in to make sure we were okay or needed anything, even when in theatre Fran was great with us, offering to capture pictures for us that will last a lifetime. Her care and compassion was second to none
About 30 mins after coming out of theatre our little girl was struggling to breathe and heart rate wasn't as high as they would have hoped, I didn't manage to catch the baby doctor's name just due to the situation, but she was a credit to the department as well.
After 15 mins or so of monitoring they decided it would be best for our little girl to go to the neonatal ward for a while. Obviously, soon as you hear this you're a bit concerned, but Fran and the doctor were great, just kept talking to me to reassure me and my partner and just having a normal chat about things.
Thankfully, after around 1.5 hrs everything improved and me and my little girl could go back to my partner. Soon as we got back we were moved up to ward 22.
Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to see Fran again and say thank you, please pass this on to staff member if you could, so it gets to the right person - staff nurse Fran.
Thank you so much
