"Thank you for a positive visit & the information & care provided."

About: Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (Edinburgh) / Paediatrics

(as a service user),

After my baby dropped nearly 2 centiles in weight, we were advised (by the health visitor and GP) to take him to the Sick Kids.

This visit didn't result in a 'failure to thrive' check up as the dip was below the 2 centile drop limit. The nurse practitioner Yvonne did a through check up and was extremely kind and helpful.

She gave us the time and space to talk about our worries, listening and talking us through all our questions and options.  She never made us feel rushed despite it being Friday evening, and validated our worries rather than making us feel silly, which was much appreciated.

Thank you for a positive visit and all the information and care you provided.

Dear LisaW24

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us via Care Opinion.

I’m sorry to hear that you had to take your baby to hospital, but I am really pleased that Yvonne was so lovely and thorough while carrying out the checks. It is great that you felt listened to and not at all rushed.

I will ensure your kind comments are shared with Yvonne and the team.

Thank you again

Dear LisaW24,

I am sorry your son's weight decreased and you needed to come to the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People. I am pleased to hear that Evonne was kind and helpful when checking him over.

We know that coming into hospital at any point can be worrying, so it is really important that we give you the time and space to talk to us about what is happening and how you are feeling. I have personally thanked Evonne for the information and care she gave you during your visit.
