GP:

I was feeling pain in my ankle intermittently, the next day it worsened so I called my GP. I was seen and diagnosed with gout. Blood test booked for the Friday but by then I was unable to walk on the right foot.

I called the GP but was told they would not visit and I was left in pain, without a plan.

Ambulance 1:

On the Friday I called 111 and with added chest pain, an ambulance arrived. ECG was clear, the crew said, my ankle was not gout, it was cellulitis and needed treatment quickly. By now throbbing constantly but I was advised to contact GP.

Ambulance 2 & ED:

The next day, chest pains returned, this time ECG was raised, and I was taken to Crosshouse ED. There I was assessed, and later moved to Ambulatory Care.  Nurses were confused as I asked for assistance to move, as they had me listed as mobile, and needing no assistance!

Ward 2D:

I was then moved to ward 2D in isolation and that is where the real care started. The care received here was excellent. Throughout my stay I felt totally cared for. Staff here were humorous and caring, I felt embarrassed keep asking for things, but they were so gracious.

District Nurse:

Louise and student Sophie, are absolutely brilliant, more like family coming to help in terms of caring.

I look forward to their arrival and good spirits.  That care is still ongoing, and soon Podiatry may take over? Personally I'm happy if Louise continues through to healing.

Thank you all đŸ¥°

Dear RayFaeTroon,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read about what happened to you, I do hope that you continue to feel better. That sounds really painful. It is great to hear positive stories about the work our wonderful staff provide.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crews directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended your name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Alan

Dear RayFaeTroon

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us via Care Opinion.

I am sorry to hear of the difficult time you have had and that you felt that you were left in pain and without a plan after contacting your GP Practice. I am responding on behalf of Primary Care Services and can liaise with your GP Practice to make them aware of your comments and feedback.

To do this, please can you send an email to HSCPAdmin@east-ayrshire.gov.uk (marked for the attention of Primary Care) providing your details and the name of the GP Practice you are registered with. If you wish to remain anonymous, we can feed back your comments to the GP Practice for their awareness and learning.

Thank you once again for taking the time to share your experience. I am very sorry it was not positive on this occasion with regards to your GP Practice however I am pleased to hear that you are now making a good recovery.

Kind regards

Danielle

Hi Danielle,

I've wrote 2 emails and both have vanished without trace on sending. No record at all in my email account.

I'm reluctant to send a third, have you received my reply?
