"Amazing care"

About: Gartnavel General Hospital / Orthopaedics (ward 4c) Gartnavel General Hospital / Theatres, Recovery and Anaesthetics

(as a service user),

I was admitted to day ward 4C at gartnavel royal hospital for knee surgery. From 1st encounter with staff, the were friendly, caring and professional each introducing themselves by name.

All of my needs, wants and concerns were met with compassion and empathy.

From the anaesthetic registrar, to theatre and all anaesthetic staff you all did your utmost to ensure I was at ease, relaxed and exceptionally well cared for. I was reassured every step of the way.

To the recovery staff I thank you for your amazing care ensuring I was kept pain free and giving me lovely cold water. To Esther my lovely nurse who cared for me on the ward and especially thanks to Mr Bell my surgeon for your skill, patience and empathy. And recognition to Mr Bell' s secretary Margaret who during all my time on waiting list was always professional, caring and very accommodating regardless of how busy she was.

Thank you all, great job and a great example of caring attitudes in our NHS.

Dear Amity-Rose

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback following your recent knee surgery in Ward 4C Gartnavel General Hospital.

The Orthopaedic multidisciplinary team work hard to provide a high standard of person centred care and I'm delighted to hear that you had a good experience.

We know that it can be daunting to be admitted to hospital for surgery so it's great that the theatre and ward teams cared for you so well and made that process easier for you.

I will share your kind words with the theatre and ward teams, with Mr Bell and Staff nurse Esther.

Best wishes for your continuing recovery.

Many thanks again

Morag Busby, Lead Nurse Orthopaedics and Trauma
