"An absolutely fantastic wee team"

About: Victoria Hospital / Pre-assessment

I received a message reminding me of my upcoming appointment in four days' time, of which I should have received a letter. No letter received at my address, but a quick call to the department gave me all the information I needed to attend.

I arrived early & the lady on reception was welcoming and friendly &  Showed me where to wait. The nurse seeing me, Lauren, took me thru and explained the process & what we were doing. Being extremely nervous & anxious, she could not have been better with me, tissues at hand and a compassionate nature.

The next nurse, Megan, was just as fabulous. It was when I was with her filling out a questionnaire that the lady from reception came and  asked if would like my surgery in 9 days' time. I was so shocked and couldn't grasp how it was happening so soon. Quite visibly upset and not taking it in, they both reassured me and calmed me down.

What an absolutely fantastic wee team of ladies I met . All were a credit to the NHS, &  The Victoria hospital

Dear Kazzzza,

Thank you for taking the time to provide such positive feedback about the pre-assessment team.

I am sorry to hear that you didn't receive your appointment letter in time, however I happy this was easily resolved following a phone call to the department.

I am pleased to hear that the members of staff involved in your care whilst you were in the department were welcoming, friendly, compassionate and fabulous. It is really important to us as a department that patients feel comfortable and able to ask questions to get the most out of their pre-op assessment.

I am delighted that you think we are an 'absolutely fantastic wee team of ladies'.

On behalf of the pre-assessment team I wish you well with your upcoming surgery and recovery.

Take care.

Stephanie Allan

Stephanie,

Thank you for responding. I'm sure all your team are just as fabulous as the ladies who looked after me on the day were.
