"Hearing the news you’re going to fully recover from cancer."

About: Victoria Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

You will have to forgive me, first of all. You know the wards I’m just learning. This was my very first visit to this hospital. I have actually got a huge Hospital phobia.

I kept thinking why arnt I feeling anxious and scared. No sign, the whole time, I arrived ward 52, I asked for a cup of tea, or is there anyway I could go make myself one. I’m more than capable, that would free a lot of time in my opinion. A trolly on each 4 bed, so patient and visitors can sit enjoy a cuppa. Patients could get free, visitors have to pay, just my opinion,

I went for a ct scan on my Gall bladder, which I already knew it was diseased. I got told they never seen so many stones, before. lol

Found out a few days later. That they had found a cancer on my bottom left rear lobe, to be told 100% successful a day later by my drs surgery after my discharge. 3 times, 3 consultants guaranteed my 100% success rate. I’m going to be treated, with radiotherapy.

They also told me, they are very rarely a cancer at my early stage, they told me I’m a very lucky woman.

I’m for ever in this hospital debt, an would love to start doing volunteer work, when my treatment is done an I’m recovered.

Hi inspirexh86

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback of your recent hospital admission. I am so pleased to hear of your positive experience.

Thank you for your suggestion around the hot drinks being available for staff and visitors. I will discuss this with my colleagues.

I will share your feedback with the staff in Ward 52. I wish you well with your ongoing treatment.

Many thanks

Karen Peacock
