"The care and compassion was absolutely fantastic"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Neurosurgery (Ward 64 – 66) Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

I was recently  admitted to ward 64 under Mr Bhattathiri and his team for brain surgery the following day.

The care and compassion received from every single member of staff including students was absolutely fantastic.

The first night after surgery I was extremely sick and the staff spent a lot of time with me ensuring I was ok.

I then got home for less than 24 hours and unfortunately had a seizure. My husband phoned 999 and the paramedics arrived at my home very quickly. I was extremely confused following the seizure.

The 2 members of staff that saw me were fantastic. They showed amazing care and compassion and explained everything as they went along and supported myself and husband through a very difficult and scary time as this was my first seizure.

Both staff are such a credit to the NHS.

I was readmitted to ward 64 and again the staff were amazing and supported me after such a terrifying time.

I work in the NHS, so it's very strange being on the other side, but can't thank the staff enough for supporting us through a difficult time. Every member of staff in ward 64 is a credit to the NHS. Keep up the good work.

Dear jazzqy77

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your comments about your time in Ward 64 at the INS. I will be delighted to share your comments with Mr Bhattathiri, and the Ward 64 Team. It is always a pleasure to read when patients have had such a positive experience whilst going through such a difficult and worrying time. I do hope you are recovering well and thank you again for your lovely feedback.

Kind regards,

Kirsten

Dear Jazzqy77,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read about what happened to you. I hope that you are feeling better. It is great to hear positive stories about the work our wonderful staff provide.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crew directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and of course your name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Alan
