"Carers Hub is valuable"

About: Western Health & Social Care Trust / Community Development Team (Social Work)

(as a carer),

This morning I experienced a lovely chilled morning making a Christmas wreath and table decorations. Excellent time out from what has been a very busy and stressful few weeks caring for my elderly mum. Thank you to Martina, Karen (MDT Social Worker and SWA) and Geraldine, Carers Coordinator.

Sessions like these make carers feel valued and recognised for the tough job they do.

As social work manager for the Primary Care Multi-Disciplinary Service, I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your experience of the Carers Hub. We value such feedback..

The carers across our Trust are our unsung heroes. These roles often do not get the recognition they deserve, and we are very much aware that the caring role can at times impact upon ones own health and wellbeing needs. It is for these reasons that we have collaborated with our Trust Carers' Co-Ordinator, Geraldine McLaughlin, to facilitate a safe and supportive space, and time away from the caring role, across a number of localities. In order to ensure that the needs of our carers are met we encourage you to continue feeding back to our facilitators, what you think may be beneficial.

Kind regards

Charmaine McNally
