"They really do make a difference to people's lives"

I am currently undergoing Chemotherapy and I wanted to say a massive thank you to Sandra and Pauline from the IV team who along with Sister Lindsey & the team in the Mandeville Unit went above and beyond to deliver my treatment before Christmas.

I had an issue with my PICC line which was going to mean a trip to Belfast for follow up care and a weeks delay in my treatment (which in itself would have had a massive impact on my family's Christmas) I was fortunate enough to recieve timely support from the IV team who went out of their way to see me at CAH during what no doubt was an already busy day.

Thanks to Sandra and Pauline and Lindsey, who coordinated my care, I can now look forward to an appointment free and relatively symptom free Christmas.

I think this is a prime example of how important it is to foster these services within the Southern Trust and make them accessible to all service users rather than just relying on staff's good faith. They really do make a difference to people's lives (and Christmases 🎄)

Thanks again

Hi monocerosbg83,

Such a truly heartfelt message of thanks. Thank you so much for taking the time to write it.

I agree that the work that the IV nurses do to assist Mandeville in their crucial work is vital and deserves recognition.

I am sorry that you had the possibility of having to go to Belfast for your treatment and I am both proud and delighted that Pauline, Susan and Lindsey were able to sort this at Craigavon for you.

I really hope you have a lovely Christmas at home with family and I will be sure to share your message with the team.

Many thanks,

Yvonne
