My experience at IAU was mixed. I would love to praise some of the staff by name but most people did not appear to be wearing name badges and a few did not introduce themselves at all.
My ECG was completed by a HCSW and three different people opened the curtain to my bay during this, while my breasts were exposed. There was absolutely zero dignity and other patients on gurneys in the corridor outside could also see my exposed body.
The doctor, x ray technician and the SCN were pleasant and my own care sufficient. The place is very busy and I can imagine it must be an overwhelmingly stressful environment to try to work in, but I don’t really think there’s any excuse for some of the behaviour I witnessed.
"A stressful experience made even more so"
