About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiac Catherterisation University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department University Hospital Hairmyres / General Medicine (Wards 9-12) University Hospital Hairmyres / Medical Assessment Unit

(as a service user),

I had a heart attack  and attended Hairmyres Hospital in a private vehicle.

I was admitted at the A&E and then triaged and then removed to a A&E overnight side area where I was looked after before being transferred to Ward 2 then Ward 9 and eventually to the Cath Lab. I was treated for my problem and catherised. I was then allowed home and returned in mid-Dec for further catherisation.

During the whole experience I was treated with the best care and kept informed of all that was happening. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the departments which were so professional, caring and kind.

In particular the staff at the Cath Lab, who allayed any anxieties I may have had and helped me to remain calm throughout the experience. A great hospital with exceptional staff.

I am sorry to hear that you have been unwell and needed to attend hospital on several occasions for treatment. This must have been a very distressing time for you and your loved ones. Please can I offer my thanks for your feedback, you have had quite the journey through our hospital and it is heartwarming to learn that you felt like you had the best care and were kept informed of all that was happening.

I will share your feedback with all the teams involved and let them know you described them as professional, caring and kind. I will let the team in Cath lab know that you have given them a special mention. I know all the wards and departments you have mentioned will be delighted with your comments and that they have helped to make your experience a more positive one.
