From the moment our mother was admitted to Ward 56, she was surrounded by an exceptional team of caring and attentive professionals. Under the leadership of Senior Charge Nurse Claire, the unit operates with remarkable efficiency and compassion.
Upon admission, our mother was critically unwell and required comprehensive nursing care. The nursing staff consistently treated her with dignity, demonstrating a positive and encouraging attitude toward her rehabilitation journey following her stroke
Dr. Muir provided clear and thoughtful communication about our mother’s diagnosis. The entire medical team was approachable, informative, and supportive, which greatly reassured us during an emotionally challenging time.
As a family, we initially struggled to process the situation. The staff not only provided outstanding care to our mother but also extended unwavering emotional support to us. Nurses like Sharon, Gillian, and Ellie were always available to address our concerns and proactively ensured the best care for our mum.
The healthcare support workers were a true credit to the trust. Their individualized care and positive attitudes shone through, even in the most challenging circumstances. Robert’s cheerful singing brought joy to both patients and families, creating a warm and uplifting environment.
The rehabilitation efforts led by Occupational Therapists Kirsty and Stephanie, along with Physiotherapists Maxine and Kate, were exceptional. Their dedication to maximizing our mother’s recovery was evident in their tireless work and can-do approach. They also supported our family by taking the time to explain progress and plans, ensuring we felt involved and informed.
Kate, the activities coordinator, played a vital role in brightening our mother’s days. Her efforts went far beyond her role, bringing joy and enrichment to the lives of patients on the ward.
We are profoundly grateful to the entire staff of Ward 56 for their exceptional care and support. Their dedication exemplifies the gold standard of stroke rehabilitation. The compassion, professionalism, and positivity of the team have left a lasting impression on our family, and we cannot thank them enough for their role in our mother’s recovery.
"Compassion, professionalism and positivity"
