I met Emily on line as my assigned Mental Health worker. I was a bit apprehensive as I don't like meeting new people. Emily put me at ease from the very start. She was kind, and very knowledgeable. We worked on line and completed the sasi work sheets together. Emily explained and encouraged, she listened and empathised. I really can't explain how her help made me feel better about myself and my agoraphobia. She then became my weekly visitor, helping me to battle against the agoraphobia. With her help and encouragement I have managed to open my front door and even step out into the inner hallway of my apartment block. Emily has given me the tools to try and go further and who knows one day step outside the building!
Emily is very professional, and very caring. I will miss her visits.
Thanks to Emily I have learnt some very good coping skills, the main one being to 'sit with the panic and anxiety' so when I step outside the door and my panic is very strong I know to breathe and wait as my panic decreases and I can stay in the corridor longer.
I feel I have learned a lot, and am trying to put it all into action.
I am very grateful to have received so much help and encouragement.
