"They were some team!"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I phoned NHS 24 as I had been  suffering from palpitations for 3hrs or more. I was asked to attend Monklands A&E for a heart trace.

I attended at 9.10pm and fortunately it was very quiet. I was called quickly- 15 mins. The treatment and care which I received was excellent.  Every nurse, doctor, radiographer  were so caring and reassuring and explained what was happening,  and the tests which they were going to carry out.

I  was attached to a heart monitor, had an ECG, bloods, Chest x Ray,  and latterly intravenous fluids.  Fortunately all tests were clear and I was allowed home.

For someone in their 70s with bad palpitations it was a bit scary, but after a few minutes I knew I was in good hands and settled quickly through kindness and reassurance  from staff.

I would just like to say a heartfelt thank you to all who took such good care of me from 9.15pm till about 12.45am when I was discharged.  They were some team!

Dear uniformgm98,

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at our accident and emergency department. I am so pleased that you had a positive experience and felt reassured and looked after by our team. They work exceptionally hard often in very busy circumstances so I am sure will be delighted to have the feedback above shared with them.

I do hope you are recovering well at home,

Thanks again for sharing

Kind Regards

Claire
