"Disappointed during procedure"

About: Tiverton and District Hospital / Endoscopy

(as a service user),

I was well looked after by the nursing team,. Unfortunately the endoscopist,  took a super quick history, was quite dismissive of my symptoms, and rather rough with the rectal exam and endoscopy. They also didn't give me a chance to ask questions afterwards, and sent me off in a very brusque manner. They were chewing gum throughout the procedure. Two members of staff  misgendered me during the procedure. I felt like they were more interested in taking pictures of my colon than treating me as a person. Glad to have had an efficiently made appointment with good communication and care from the nursing team, but disappointed with the manner and behaviour of the endoscopists.

I would like to give a special thank you to two members of staff for looking after me so well, and  for a very quick and painless cannulation.

Dear Rothfuss,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about you experience here at Tiverton day case unit. I am very sorry to hear that your experience wasn't as positive as we hope for patients. If you would like to get in touch, our service leads would be happy to discuss this further with you.

I will, however, pass on your compliments to the nursing team.

Kind regards,

Amabel Davis
