"Professional and caring staff"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Monklands / Critical Care Unit

(as a relative),

Paramedics were called to my sister-in-law. My sister-in-law had diabetic keto acidosis and was unconscious.

The crew attending were excellent and immediately called for the trauma team who were also fantastic.

Unfortunately my sister-in-law died with multi organ failure in ITU at Monklands Hospital.

The staff in wd 26 at Monklands were faultless in her care. The family would just like to pass on their thanks to all the staff. They were professional and caring for my sister-in-law and all the family.

Thank you x

Dear Worried daughter 123,

I note that your feedback relates to a number of different NHS services. I am writing on behalf of the Scottish Ambulance Service. First and foremost may I extend my heartfelt sympathies and condolences to you and your family at this very tragic time. I am so deeply sorry to hear about the loss of your Sister-in-Law and can only imagine this must be a very upsetting and stressful time for you all. May I extend a very special thanks on behalf of the service for you providing such lovely feedback especially at this time. It is very much appreciated and I'm sure the crews and other NHS staff members involved in your SIL's care will deeply appreciate it.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crews directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and your SIL's name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

Again my sincerest condolences and thank you again for your kind feedback.

Kind Regards

Marie,

Patient Experience Manager

Dear Worried Daughter 123,

I am so sorry for the loss of your sister in law and thank you for posting this feedback for the Critical Care Unit during what must be a very difficult time.

I am so pleased to hear that while in their care your sister in law and the wider family received excellent care and support from the whole team in Ward 26.

I will ensure your kind words are passed on to the team who I am sure will take great pride in knowing they gave such excellent care to your sister in law.

My thoughts are with you all at this time.

Best Wishes,

Jenni
