I have suffered with mental health distress for six years. I have had two close calls with ending my life and one involved a mental health act assessment after medical treatment was complete.
I have seen the crisis team twice over a period of weeks. I believe I have ADHD and complex PTSD. I previously had EMDR therapy privately when my anxiety which was work related hit a pinnacle.
I have repeatedly asked for further assessment by a psychiatrist as I have never had any formal diagnosis. I have tried multiple meds most of which do not help. I recently was referred to Silverlea. I had one session lasting over an hour.
Two days later I was discharged back to the GP mental health nurse that works one day a week. My anxiety symptoms, panic attacks and dark thoughts are as bad as ever. I have been off work for 5 weeks and am keen to get back. I am not fit to work at present as hardly leave my bedroom let alone my house.
I have repeatedly asked for a psychiatrist assessment and diagnosis over six years. TALKWORKS do not provide EMDR or face to face appointments. I feel the service given from mental health services is not fit for purpose. I am tired of feeling like this all the time and just want help but none is available.
How long will this go on before I finally get some help?
