"I have nothing but praise and gratitude"

About: Gartnavel General Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

My GP referred me to Urology after I reported a one off episode of blood in my urine. Within a few weeks I underwent tests which showed a bladder tumour.

Very soon after that I was admitted to have this removed which was done with an overnight stay. 2 weeks later I was seen again for the results which showed the tumour as cancerous but completely removed and a plan put in place to monitor me.

Every single person I met during this short journey was kind, compassionate and a credit to their profession. I have nothing but praise and gratitude for the NHS and especially the team at Gartnavel.

Dear Tam Clydebank,

Thank you for sharing your feedback and I'm really pleased to hear that your journey from initial visit to your GP right through to treatment and after care has had such a positive outcome. This is the high standard of patient experience that we strive for every day, and to make what must have been a very worrying time a little less stressful. I hope you are recovering well.

Kind regards,

Lisa Martin, Patient Experience Public Involvement Team.
