"Wonderful care in Critical Care"

About: Royal Victoria Hospital / Respiratory medicine (5F and 7CCB)

(as a relative),

Although I wasn’t the patient in ward 5F, I was a daily visitor. The standard of care offered was exceptional.

Nurses like Rinnu & doctors like Rana & Kevin make a difficult & stressful situation easier to handle. I only met Ann Marie briefly but she is such a warm & caring person. I found the consultant Dr Leggett to be straightforward, direct and kind. The whole situation was such a shock & the staff understood this.

As a person might imagine, the sights and sounds of a critical care ward can be difficult to bear witness to. It’s very difficult to be transplanted into that sort of environment suddenly.

Support staff Martin & Sean are brilliant at their job. They made sure I was always offered hot drinks & food. They treated me like I was a member of their family & I won’t forget that.

Good afternoon,

My name is Karalyn Browne and I am the Lead Nurse for Respiratory Medicine in the RVH.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience in 5F and 7CCB.

We understand how stressful and traumatic it can be for patients and their relatives during a hospital admission. I am grateful that the staff in these wards showed you kindness and compassion. Hopefully they were able to ease some of your anxieties.

I have shared your comments with all the staff and especially those you have mentioned by name.

Again, thank you for your words of encouragement and thanks. This has gone a long way to help our staff feel valued.

Kind regards

Karalyn
