I want to extend a massive thank you to the staff in Royal Jubilee Maternity for all they did to make my birth a positive, safe experience.
This was my first baby and the midwives and care assistants were so encouraging and supportive, I felt like I had personal cheerleaders the whole way through.
I want to say thank you to the night staff in MAU who I met in mid January- especially Marie who came back to see me after the delivery and Geraldine who remembered us from a previous visit.
Alex was our midwife on delivery suite, she and Karen were so attentive and incredibly good at their jobs. I felt so well looked after, they advocated for me and kept me safe. I will always remember them.
And the staff in Johnstone house as I recovered, who were attentive and kind. Thank you to midwives Eimear for checking in on me, and Paige for helping us get home sooner. There were so many friendly faces overnight when youre alone with your baby, who were full of congratulations.
Even the domestic staff were full of congratulations. Massive thank you to Melanie, who really helped me get to grips with feeding over nights.
The Belfast Trust should be extremely proud of the competency of the staff, but also their empathy and kindness, which is second to none. I met so many members of the team, and couldn't fault any of them.
Thank you for the incredible job you do.
