"I felt forced into a situation I didn't want"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I had an appointment for an endometrial ablation. This was right until I walked into the drs office and they refused to do it. Basically I’m too fat. That’s great. But please next time give me some notice. I’ve said the pill has made me gain several kg and I did not want anymore hormonal treatments. But no I was told only option was Mirena iud and nothing else. I had been waiting for 2 years for a referral for debilitating periods, they lasted months. I had to set 2 hour alarms and couldn’t get sleep because the pain. I am a carer and work full time. I needed something permanent. I understand an ablation is painful but on the leaflet it says you only need some painkillers before.

I feel like they failed me.  Especially the doctor who did my iud making it sound like some cult. I was made to feel pathetic for needing gas and air. If anyone had said lose weight before, like 6 months notice, I could’ve but no one did so I was forced to be on another hormone product. I had to take sickness leave for this, unpaid, and now lose out on bonuses at work for a waste of time for something I didn’t want done but was forced to sign.

Honestly they should be ashamed of themselves. I feel they forced me into a situation I didn't want because I've got no other choice.
