"Each one a credit to their profession"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

My husband had a very scary heart episode recently. I cannot praise the care he was given enough. From the first responder, two ambulance crews( one who looked after him in the ambulance for an hour) to the doctor and nurses  to the heart specialist - each one was knowledgeable and friendly.

Nine hours later we were home, my husbands heart was stopped and started, and hopefully will stay corrected. His treatment was second to none. I cannot thank Gillian from St Monans first responders, Fife ambulance crews, and the Victoria hospital in Kirkcaldy enough. Each one was excellent and a credit to their profession, particularly as A&E was overflowing.

Thank you all!

Dear Grateful 1953,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on Care Opinion. I note that your feedback relates to a number of different NHS services. I am writing on behalf of the Scottish Ambulance Service. I am so sorry to read about your husband's recent heart episode and can imagine this must have been a very scary and stressful experience for you both. I do hope that he has recovered and feeling better now. I am pleased to hear that you felt the care your husband received was to a high standard and that staff were knowledgeable and friendly.

I would love to be able to pass this wonderful feedback onto the crew involved as they would be thrilled to hear it. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and your husband's name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Marie,

Patient Experience Manager
