I underwent surgery yesterday for agonising gallbladder attacks I have been experiencing since early December.
Throughout, my care from the initial A&E visit to yesterday's surgery to remove my gallbladder has been very good.
The overwhelming asset were staff at all levels of my care. From compassionate reception staff, to attentive nurses and HCAs and my fantastic surgical team.
I have a hypermobility spectrum condition and when discussed, the anaesthetist and surgical teams took the time and care to plan my procedure in the safest manner, considering this. I was listened to throughout and included in decision making. Due to this, I was able to return home to recover on the same day as surgery.
Obviously I still need to fully recover and heal. I was given comprehensive information and advice on discharge, by a knowledgeable nurse.
