"Wrong letter"

About: Belfast Health & Social Care Trust / Breast Screening Unit

(as a service user),

The letter I received said I had an appointment in the Mammography suite in the City Hospital. I arrived and was told they don’t do breast screening in BCH on a Thursday and so I was redirected to Linenhall street breast screening clinic. After two parking payments and sitting in traffic I eventually was able to keep my appointment.

How did this happen -no one could explain to me!

Breast screening is an uncomfortable experience as it is so as you can imagine I am even more stressed than is necessary. 

I appreciate all the staff do in the health service but this is one of many mistakes that presumably happens due to cost cutting.

I was informed of this error on Friday afternoon and I apologise profusely for the inconvenience and stress you experienced.

It was discovered that this was an admin error, with your correct appointment in transit.

We appreciate there is a lot of learning to take from this and we will move forward using this as a scenario based teaching in our in house training.

Please accept my apologies again for the disruption and added stress.
