"My second time in Cloughreagh House"

About: Cloughreagh House

(as a service user),

This is my second admission to Cloughreagh House so I knew what to expect. As of last time the care was excellent, the care staff were very helpful and responsive to my needs. The food was good , nice and hot and I enjoyed it.  I want to commend the cook and her team , they do a good job. I appreciated the alternative desserts that were available instead of the milk puddings.

On the previous occasion I was here I thought the decor was very dated but I was pleasantly surprised to see the corridors have had a face lift and are freshly painted in nice subtle colours. Its just a pity the inside of the doors in the bedroom

Equally the last time I was here I also completed a Care Opinion and spoke about the negative effect of doing exercises in the bedroom and I was pleasantly surprised to see the Gym in place. I felt it was a very therapeutic environment and I looked forward to doing my daily exercise routine in the Gym.  Well done to all those involved in  getting the gym organized, it is  a great improvement.

I do want to say though that the bedroom assigned to me Rm 28 is not fit for purpose.  It has a very poor layout, small  and pokey.  There is no space at all to move about the room and when visitors came I felt they were on top of me. Someone just looking into the room might think its ok but when you are actually sitting in it you feel as if the walls are coming in on you.  However I knew it was just for the 2 weeks.

Despite that I have really benefited from my stay in Cloughreagh and I have made great progress with my rehab journey.  Thank you to all involved with my care, I do appreciate all that was done for me.

Thank you such much for your feedback second time around, I am delighted to hear you were impressed by the improvements made, yes the creation of the therapeutic gym has had such a positive impact on Service Users' rehab journey and recovery.

I do acknowledge that Bedroom 28 is very small, however due to the increased demand for our beds to relieve pressures in our hospitals we were operating at capacity. Generally we try to leave this bedroom for someone who is fairly independent and requires minimal equipment as you said it was for only two weeks.

On behalf of the team I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your lovely comments about the service we provide in Cloughreagh and to wish you continued good health and hope you return to your normal daily routine soon.

Kind Regards
