"Efficient and friendly care at theatre admissions unit"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / General surgery

(as a service user),

I had to go for a biopsy under general anaesthetic at the Hallamshire Hospital. Although I was there for a long time (10am through to about 7pm) my whole experience was positive.

All staff were not only friendly and helpful they were also efficient and knowledgeable. I cannot remember everyone I saw, but I include the portering staff, the nurses, all operating theatre staff and anyone else I forgot to mention. It makes a huge difference having staff who are responsive, act on requests and know what they are doing.

The day was topped post op, as I recovered, by being given a cup of tea, toast and marmalade AND biscuits... what else could I ask for!

Thanks to everyone - a win for the NHS!

Thank you ever so much for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent experience of care when you attended for your biopsy. We are really pleased to read that you felt well cared for and that staff were friendly and helpful at all times. As you mention, there are so many different people who support the service we provide, and your kind words about all the staff involved in your admission and their responsiveness to support you are so lovely. We appreciate that you had a long day here, but are so glad to read that you had a good experience during this admission.

Thank you again for your lovely comments - we have shared this feedback with the team.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best with any ongoing care or treatment.
