"Learning to move again"

About: Mental Health Community Services / Condition Management Programme

(as the patient),

Post Cancer treatment I was discharged without any support on how to pick myself up again and get on with life but I carried on until my father passed away after him too being treated for the same Cancer. I stopped moving, putting on weight, pains in my hips and generally not felling great about life and the future.

CMP pulled me out of the dark cloud and got me moving again. Showed me how to reframe negative thoughts and put myself first. Without the program I wasn't going to get any better.

Thank you for sharing your experience with NHSCT's Condition Management Programme (CMP). It is encouraging to hear that accessing CMP allowed you to begin to move forward after what sounds like a really difficult period. You mention that you were able to use support and advice from CMP staff to think about your health and consider your needs.

I hope that you will be able to continue to make use of some of the strategies that were helpful during your time with CMP.

On behalf of the CMP Team we wish you well in your journey forward.

best wishes

Sinead
