"Poor treatment of cancer victims"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

In 2023 I was diagnosed with cancer. I was then left in with one of the nurses who told me to -get a hold of myself-because I was crying and had just been told I was terminally ill. I'm just really disgusted at how I was treated. I just can't believe this person even chose to want to be in this role as a profession because I was made to feel like I was part of a problem for her. This experience will stay with me the rest of my life. Some kindness would have been nice.

Dear Patqc48

Firstly, I want apologise that this has been your experience. Being informed of this diagnosis would be difficult enough, and I am sorry that you were not shown more compassion at that time. As Care Opinion is an anonymous forum, I would more than happy for you to discuss your concerns with me, to ensure that your patient experience is not repeated.

If you would like to discuss this further, my contact details are below.

Kind Regards
