"They were very informative & professional"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy

(as a carer),

Pauline & Tracy attended the Mandeville Unit to insert a PICC line due to complications getting venous access for chemo the previous week.

This was organised by the staff in the Mandeville unit. It was done early morning, so the department was quite quiet. With mobility issues travelling to Belfast for this while undergoing chemo with it's side effects would have been a lot to manage. The girls were excellent, they explained the procedure prior to commencing but also explained throughout the whole procedure & were very reassuring to mummy. The girls were very informative & professional.

This is a service which we as a family could not praise enough, this service is definitely required for cancer patients within the Southern Trust.

Hi jiveqj87,

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave such positive feedback.

I am delighted that Pauline and Tracy were able to insert the PICC for your mum in Mandelville reducing an unnecessary trip to Belfast for her as I know this is a difficult time for her and you all.

I hope she continues to respond well to the treatment.

Many thanks,

Yvonne
