"Shown great kindness by staff"

About: Cloughreagh House

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I was in Cloughreagh for 2 weeks and I thought it was lovely. The staff treated me very well, showed great kindness and were attentive to my needs.

The first morning I was there I had a shower and found out that a hairdresser was on site, I had my hair done and I just felt wonderful. It hadn’t been washed since I took sick and it made me feel so good to get it done. I also asked about my feet and the staff were able to arrange for a podiatrist to come and do my toes. Getting these two things done was brilliant.

I had never heard of Cloughreagh before I went there and I have to say that I enjoyed my stay. I gained some of my strength back and felt reassured that I was ready for home.

I have food allergies which the kitchen staff were made aware of and Cloughreagh provided well for me and I felt reassured that the food was suitable.

I also met someone who I hadn’t seen for years and was able to renew that friendship, it’s a small world sometimes.

If I ever need to again I would be happy to return to Cloughreagh, thank you to all the staff.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience of Cloughreagh and I am pleased to read that it was an enjoyable experience for you.

The availability of a visiting hairdresser is always very important to all of our service users and it is amazing how much better they feel after getting their hair done. We find even our gentleman are often so appreciative of the opportunity to get a hair cut after maybe several weeks in hospital. Equally we have a podiatrist who when contacted will come and for a small fee will attend to the feet of our service users. In Cloughreagh we appreciate the benefit our service users get from these visiting professionals.

With the increased awareness of allergens and special diets the kitchen staff have to be able to provide suitable foods for those who require them and I am glad that they were responsive to your needs and that you felt reassured. I will pass on your appreciation to them

Thank you again for your positive feedback and I would like to wish you all the best in your onward recovery.

Kind Regards

Stephanie Campbell
