"Unit runs like a well-oiled machine"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Maternity

(as a service user),

My husband and I attended our local women’s health centre for my 12 week scan appointment. The unit ran like a well oiled machine. Everyone was polite and friendly and I appreciated not having to wait too long with a full bladder!

Our Sonographer, Sue, was so professional and put us at ease straight away. She was very knowledgeable and we could tell she had been doing her job for a long time (and still appeared to love it!). She got excited with us even though she had probably performed the same scan many times already that day. She pointed out all the anatomy and we didn’t feel rushed at all. I ended up needing an internal scan, I felt my dignity was maintained at all times and it was such a positive experience.

Dear Sunflower8

Thankyou so much for taking the time to send this lovely feedback around the scanning department in maternity.

It is so great to hear that it ran well and to time and you did not feel rushed and that you felt the sonographer was knowledgeable and professional.

I will pass on this feedback to the leads of the service to ensure that Sue gets this lovely feedback and to the rest of the team.

We hope the rest of your pregnancy journey goes well and we look forward to caring for you and your family over the coming months.

thankyou again
